I could not attach the lisp routine to the post as stated in the video. (vlax-put-property nobj ‘TextString nstrg)
Tip: To create a PDF with searchable text from AutoCAD, make sure to use TrueType fonts in the drawing and ensure that your printer driver is set to retain text as text instead of converting it to curves. (if (= (vlax-get-property nobj ‘ObjectName) “AcDbMLeader”) If a PDF file contains searchable text, pdf2cad will reproduce it as MTEXT in the DWG or DXF file, preserving the fonts and styles. What were gonna look at now is another one of my favorite AutoCAD Express tools, and its Convert Text to MTEXT, to multiline text. Upload your file from different sources to create a CAD DWG file from it.

Well, AutoCAD doesn’t have the capabilities to do so, but I found a snazzy lisp routine years ago on the AutoCAD Tips blog that does the trick. In CAD software, Text, also called single-line text, or Dtext, makes every line a separate object. It’s great for short annotation in a drawing.
You can download StripMtext Lisp from Steve and John’s ‘Cadabyss’ Blog.Recently I have had several calls asking if it was possible to convert regular MTEXT to a multileader. I was going to put a ‘How to’ together, but a quick web search lead me to this demo by CAD Tutor regular Lee Mac which says it all really! It worked great and was exactly what I needed. Hedgehog posted up a lisp routine called ‘ StripMtext’ by Steve Doman and John Uhden that strips out errant formatting from MTEXT and Dimension text. It didn’t take long to dig up this post by ‘Hedgehog’ on Changing Mtext Font style at the CAD Tutor Forums. Not only was this really annoying, but I knew that I was way to retentive to leave it so I set about finding a solution. Whilst working on a colleagues drawing I discovered that he had over written the Font inside some MTEXT so that It was no longer controlled by the text style. I came upon a problem today with Autocad that I had not come across before. The user may then select either a Text, MText, Attribute, Dimension, Table Cell, or Multileader object and proceed to copy the associated text content to a selection of any of the aforementioned objects. Are you are having trouble editing Mtext in an AutoCAD drawing? is additional formatting causing the problem? To copy text, the program may be called with ctx at the AutoCAD command line.
